Pim Mulier: founder of Dutch sports and pioneer of the Eleven Cities Tour.
Born in Witmarsum, Pim Mulier played a crucial role in the early history of the Eleven Cities Tour. As early as 1890, he skated the route on his own and documented his experience in drawings and stories. His efforts helped pave the way for the first official Eleven Cities Tour in 1909, for which Mulier also designed the famous participant’s cross.
In addition to his involvement with the Eleven Cities Tour, he was an energetic promoter of sport in the Netherlands, from football and athletics to skating and bandy.
